Testimonies – Julius Berger Nigeria Internship 2019

Adolphus Emmanuel Ozara

“I am Adolphus Emmanuel Ozara from Edo State. During my Industrial Training with Julius Berger, I work in the Mechanical/Electrical section of the Akwa Ibom Stadium Complex project in Uyo.

I started my Industrial Training (IT) attachment after I had received a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering. I remember that on my first working day, when I entered the site, I was overwhelmed by the complexity of the project. Further into the training, with the help of my boss, I carried out electrical installations and mechanical works that I haven’t been able to do before.

It made me proud that my work within Julius Berger’s mechanical/electrical section progressed the construction of the Uyo Stadium. I never thought that I would be part of such a project and I’m grateful that Julius Berger was giving me this opportunity.”

Oluwafunmilayo Deborah Soga

“I am Oluwafunmilayo Deborah Soga from Epe, Lagos State. I am obtaining my Industrial Training (IT) in the Wages Department of Julius Berger in Lagos to better understand the accounting work in large corporations.

After graduation from university with a National Diploma in Accounting, I started working for Julius Berger’s Division Office West in the Wages Department. Here, I learned the importance of teamwork and cooperation between different administrative and financial departments.

My colleagues at JB showed me that proper documentation and confidentiality is crucial for a good wages officer. This IT attachment not only developed my skills as an accountant, but furthered my overall work discipline to become an excellent accountant in the future.”
